MLA Tral chairs introductory meeting with sectoral officers | | | Early Times Report
PULWAMA, Nov 2: The newly elected Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Tral, Rafiq Ahmad Naikoo Saturday convened an introductory meeting with sectoral officers at the Town Hall in Tral to review the progress and challenges of various developmental schemes within the constituency. The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Tral, Sajid Yahya Naqash, presented the overall scenario of the Sub Division with the discussions mostly revolving around issues such as widening of roads, further development of the fruit industry and accelerating the construction of a comprehensive fruit and vegetable market. The Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Pulwama provided a detailed presentation, stating that nearly all projects under the 2024-25 District Capex Budget and Aspirational Development Grants, for the Tral constituency, have been tendered. During the meeting, MLA sought the progress across several sectors, including Rural Development, Roads and Buildings (R&B), PMGSY, KPDCL, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Irrigation, Education, Health, Horticulture, Agriculture and NRLM, alongside winter preparedness. He emphasized resolving bottlenecks affecting these projects to ensure timely progress. The MLA was apprised about the school education scenario, the staff status as well as the rationalization of teaching staff. The Jal Shakti Department informed about measures being taken to ensure a reliable supply of drinking water, while KPDCL updated about the status to maintain power supply as per the established schedule. The MLA emphasised upon adequate medical and paramedical manpower. Plans underway to upgrade various facilities including parking issues were also highlighted. Quality of pesticides and fertilisers was also discussed.The MLA directed relevant departments to intensify quality checks on supplies and improve the distribution of farming machinery. Initiatives for the beautification of Tral Town were reviewed, with a focus on renewable energy solutions for street lighting and high-mast lighting. Plans for rehabilitating local vendors and developing designated shop areas at the main adda were also discussed. The MLA urged all officers to implement eco-friendly and community-oriented practices in their respective projects to enhance the quality of life for Tral residents. ADC Tral pledged full commitment to implementing all resolutions in letter and spirit. The MLA assured stakeholders that any issues encountered will be promptly addressed to ensure uninterrupted development in Tral. |
