Udhampur, Nov 6: Udhampur Police have successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and rescued five bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station Panchari. The police team, led by SHO Panchari, intercepted a smuggler attempting to transport the animals on foot towards Ramban. The smuggler, identified as Mirza, son of Sheedu, a resident of Sadhota Panchari, was arrested on the spot. All five bovines were rescued and relocated to a safer area. A case (FIR No. 63/2024) under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Panchari, and further investigations are ongoing. |
