Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 8: The Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha (DBPS) and other social organizations strongly condemned a recent resolution by the National Conference-led Jammu and Kashmir government, calling for the restoration of Article 370. In a joint statement, DBPS President Ved Parkash Sharma, Chairman Advocate P.C. Sharma, and former bureaucrats, including B.S. Jamwal and M.L. Padha, expressed deep concern, labeling the resolution as a "conspiracy" that could lead to the disintegration of Jammu and Kashmir from India. The representatives argued that the revocation of Article 370 in 2019 provided essential rights to communities such as Valmikis and West Pakistani refugees and allowed daughters married outside the state to retain property rights. Reinstating Article 370, they warned, would undo these changes and destabilize the region. Senior BJP leader and Tawi Andolan President Chander Mohan Sharma urged the government to focus on employment, infrastructure, and welfare programs rather than divisive issues that could revive militancy. Other prominent members, including V.M. Magotra, Sunil Sharma, and Rajesh Bargotra, condemned the resolution as an attempt to "wage war against the Indian constitution," accusing the alliance of supporting separatist interests. They pledged that nationalist forces would oppose any effort to reverse the abrogation of Article 370. |
