DODA, Nov 10: An Inter-Zonal Sports Meet was held today here on Degree College Doda campus as part of the "Khelega Bharat" initiative with Abhyudaya Youth Club as the organizer.
The event brought together young athletes from across different regions, who participated with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship in a range of sports activities. The meet aimed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and a spirit of healthy competition among the youth.
Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh graced the occasion alongside other government functionaries, including District Youth Services and Sports Officer Sunil Kumar.
In his address, the DC inspired the young participants, emphasizing the role of sports in both personal and social development. He highlighted the district's commitment to supporting youth development initiatives and encouraged the athletes to strive for excellence in both sports and academics. He also praised the only girl from J&K selected for the Japan tour.
The event included discussions on the future of sports development in Doda, with officials emphasizing the importance of improving sports facilities and expanding training programs. The meet also provided a valuable networking platform for young athletes and sports enthusiasts, fostering a sense of community and support.
