Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 10: The All J&K Gujjar-Bakerwal Organisation Coordination Committee has voiced concerns over the alleged discriminatory treatment of government employees from their community. In a recent press statement, Chairman Advocate Anwar Chowdhary claimed that the Gujjar-Bakerwal community faces minimal representation in government roles, and the few members in administrative positions experience "step-motherly treatment." Chowdhary pointed out that Gujjar-Bakerwal IAS and IPS officers, as well as doctors and engineers, have been sidelined and assigned to low-profile roles, with none serving as district heads. Despite proven records of efficiency and honesty, Gujjar-Bakerwal officers have been overlooked by successive administrations, he said. The chairman urged the government to address this alleged bias, warning that the Coordination Committee may resort to protests if their community's rights continue to be neglected. |
