Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 10: Natrang Theatre Group presented the Hindi comedy Tauba-Tauba, written by Rajinder Kumar Sharma and directed by Neeraj Kant, at its weekly Sunday Theatre series. The play humorously delves into issues that challenge theatre groups, particularly the lack of commitment by some actors that can jeopardize entire performances. Despite its underlying message, the play leaned more toward comedy than social commentary. Tauba-Tauba opens at the home of Anokhe Lal, the play's director, who has turned his house into a rehearsal space for an upcoming show. Hilarity ensues as the characters, mostly uninterested in rehearsals, prioritize personal excuses over commitment to the performance. Adding to the chaos, a newly appointed servant unintentionally disrupts the preparation with new problems each time he appears. As tensions rise, Anokhe Lal discovers that an actor playing a key role is unavailable, prompting him to train the servant to fill in. This decision leads to an amusing twist when Anokhe Lal's real father arrives, resulting in a comedic confrontation. The cast featured Mihir Gujral, Aadesh Dhar, Vandana Thakur, Kushal Bhat, Vishal Sharma, and Sanket, with lighting by Neeraj Kant Sharma. The production was coordinated by Mohd. Yaseen, delivering an evening of laughter for the audience. |
