Bovine smuggling attempt foiled, four bovines rescued | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 12: Jammu Police, as part of Operation Kamdhenu, successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and rescued four bovines on November 12. A team from Police Station Nagrota intercepted a vehicle (JK02DK/1041) at the Ban Toll Plaza in the Nagrota Sub-division. The vehicle, which was carrying the animals illegally, was stopped, and the driver, identified as Reyaz Ahmed, a resident of Dukson Chanderkot Ramban, was arrested on the spot. The four rescued bovines were handed over to authorities, and the vehicle used in the smuggling attempt was seized. In connection with the incident, an FIR (No. 298/2024) under Sections 223/BNS 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota. The public has praised the police for their continued efforts and strict actions against bovine smuggling in the region. Further investigation is ongoing. |
