UDHAMPUR, Nov 12: In a remarkable achievement towards improving health care services, a team of ENT specialist doctors of Government Medical College Udhampur on Tuesday successfully conducted Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) on a young person. The FESS surgery was performed on an 18 year male patient with left sided antrochoanal polyp. The surgery was performed by Dr Naveed Gul Assistant professor ENT, under the guidance of Dr. Rakesh Sharma Professor, Department of ENT. The surgery was assisted by Dr. Sucheta (SR). Postoperatively the patient is recovering well. Anesthesia team included Dr. Naseer Khanday and Dr. Vandana. With the establishment of GMC Udhampur, a wide array of surgeries like FESS, mastoidectomies and thyroid surgeries have been added to other routinely performed ENT procedures. |
