Early Times Report SAMBA, Nov 13: Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) Jammu Kashmir Prant hosted the North Region National Group Song Competition at Sri Ram Universal School, Jakh Vijaypur, District Samba. The event saw participation from teams across Punjab, Himachal, Jammu, and Chandigarh, with students performing patriotic songs in Hindi and Sanskrit. The competition opened with the traditional lamp lighting and "Vande Mataram" recitation. Chander Prakash Ganga, Hon'ble MLA Vijaypur, was the chief guest, while S. Gajinder Singh Sandhu, BVP's National Coordinator, delivered the keynote address. Sushil Sharma, BVP Regional President, presided over the function, and Sanjeev Gupta, Chairman of Sri Ram Universal School, served as the Guest of Honour. In his welcome address, State President Sh. Bharat Bhushan emphasized BVP's commitment to fostering patriotism among youth. The chief guest lauded BVP's efforts in instilling values of brotherhood and national pride. S. Gajender Singh Sandhu urged students to avoid social evils and focus on constructive contributions to society. Prof. Anupama Sharma, Kuldeep Rai, and Sunil Sharma judged the event. The competition concluded with DAV School Bhatinda as the overall winner, advancing to represent the North 1 region in the National Program set for December 15, 2024, in Bangalore. The event ended with the National Anthem and chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai." |
