ABRSM delegation submits charter of demands to education commissioner | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 13: A delegation from the Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM), led by President Sh. Rattan Sharma, met with the Commissioner Secretary of Education, Sh. Suresh Kumar Gupta, to present a charter of demands concerning the long-pending issues of the teaching fraternity in Jammu and Kashmir. The delegation highlighted several key concerns affecting teachers, including the adjustment of 1,029 newly promoted teachers to the position of Masters. While the adjustment process for teachers in Kashmir Division has been completed, teachers in the Jammu region are still waiting for their adjustments, despite the promotion process being completed in June this year. The ABRSM delegation criticized the delayed action by the Director of School Education Jammu, questioning the accountability and efficiency of the Education Department. Another point of contention raised by the delegation was the prolonged delay in identifying vacant posts for Teacher Grade-II, as per Government Order No. 20-Edu of 2019. The delegation expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of allotment of these posts, which has impacted salary distribution. The Chief Education Officers of Jammu Division were particularly blamed for their lack of progress in addressing this issue. |
