Early Times Report KATHUA, Nov 14: Continuing its fight against the drug menace, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kathua successfully seized approximately 10.08 grams of heroin (chitta) from a suspected drug peddler in the Chak Drab Khan area. The police operation, part of the #WarOnDrugs initiative, led to the arrest of the suspect, identified as Gareeb Dass, a resident of Ward No. 05, Chak Drab Khan, Kathua. On November 13, 2024, a team from Police Post Nagri Parole, under the supervision of DySP Hqrs. Kathua and SHO PS Kathua, conducted a routine naka (checkpoint) and patrol in the area. During the operation, they apprehended Gareeb Dass, who was acting suspiciously. Upon conducting a physical search, approximately 10.08 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. The seized narcotics were promptly confiscated, and an FIR under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kathua. The arrested individual is currently under investigation.
