District Malaria Unit launches Anti-Dengue Spray drive | | | Early Times Report DODA, Nov 14: The District Malaria Unit, as part of the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP), launched an intensified anti-Dengue spray drive across Thathri town. The proactive initiative aimed to curb mosquito breeding and control the spread of Dengue following a recent rise in cases across the district. The comprehensive spray coverage spane all wards of Thathri town, ensuring that every locality receives protection. The spray drive was complemented by public awareness efforts to educate residents on Dengue prevention methods. The community members were encouraged to eliminate stagnant water around their homes by regularly emptying water from coolers, pots, and containers, which are prime mosquito breeding grounds. These preventive measures, when followed consistently, play a crucial role in reducing the risks associated with mosquito-borne diseases. The spray operation and awareness sessions were conducted by a dedicated team from the CMO Office Doda, including members of the District Malaria Unit like Farooq Ahmed, Junior Health Inspector (JHI), and Liaqat Ali Zargar, along with officials from Community Health Center (CHC) Thathri, such as Jonson Chandail, Community Health Officer (CHO), and Mrs. Alka Rani, Sanitary Inspector. Their coordinated efforts aim to encourage community involvement in maintaining cleanliness and minimizing potential mosquito breeding sites. |
