Cong's flip-flop on Art 370 only to suit its political convenience: Kavinder | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 15: Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta on Friday slammed AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge for changing stance on Article 370 only to suit his party's political convenience. In a statement issued to media persons, the BJP stalwart leader questioned what the Congress MLAs were doing when the J&K Assembly passed the resolution on special status of J&K through voice vote. He said that the silence of those Congress legislators in the Assembly is testimony to the fact that Congress is an ally of the NC in the ploy to bring J&K back into the dark era of Article 370, a stand which Pakistan also supports openly in all platforms across the globe. He said that Congress' action speaks louder than words that this party is more inclined towards Pakistan because its tone and treading matches with the leadership of that country and not with the aspirations of the nationalist people of India. He said that when it was time to stand for the nation by opposing the resolution on special status of J&K, the Congress remained silent, and now, when the party is being exposed on this issue, its national president is giving groundless alibis to the people because it is the election time in some states and this party's sins in J&K are troubling its leadership because people have make up their minds not to support Congress come what may. |
