Early Times Report

UDHAMPUR, Nov 18, 2024: A meeting of the District Development Council (DDC) Udhampur was held today under the chairmanship of DDC Chairman Lal Chand to review the progress of ongoing works under the District Capex Budget 2024-25, Area Development Plan (ADP), and various grants, including PRI, BDC, and DDC allocations.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chairperson DDC Udhampur, Juhi Manhas Pathania; Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai; Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh, who is also the CEO DDC; Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh; and other senior officers, including DDC members and district officials.
A comprehensive review was conducted on the physical and financial progress of development works under the District Capex Budget, UT Capex, ABDP, and other grants. Discussions were held on the achievements and challenges in various schemes, with a strong emphasis on achieving 100% fund utilization for the current financial year.
Lal Chand stressed the need for transparency, accountability, and adherence to timelines during the execution of projects. He urged all officers to work diligently to meet the set targets and ensure timely completion without compromising quality. He also highlighted the importance of close monitoring to avoid delays and ensure that quality standards are met.
DDC members raised concerns regarding ongoing issues, including the completion of Jal Jeevan Mission works, installation of new electric transformers, and shortage of electricity poles.
They also emphasized the need for faster tendering and allotment processes to ensure the timely commencement of developmental projects.
The Council passed a resolution to ensure that the inauguration and foundation stone-laying ceremonies for works funded by ADP grants, District Capex Budget, DDC, BDC, and PRI are carried out only after obtaining prior consent from the District Development Council.
Additionally, the meeting resolved to expedite the tendering process for all ongoing and upcoming projects to facilitate their timely start.
The meeting concluded with a presentation by the Chief Planning Officer, which highlighted the developmental works executed in various sectors throughout the year.
