Early Times Report KATHUA, Nov 18: The Management School of Kathua Campus, University of Jammu, successfully organized an industrial visit to Chenab Textile Mills (CTM) for MBA first- and third-semester students. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to the textile manufacturing process and familiarize students with industry operations. CTM's management extended a warm welcome and provided an in-depth overview of their operations. S.K. Jena, DGM-HR/Training & Development, discussed the organization's history, workforce, and HR strategies, emphasizing the importance of mindfulness and skill-building in creating resilient professionals. Kanika Samyal, HR at CTM, highlighted the adoption of sustainable practices to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Students were introduced to advanced quality control processes, including the use of USTERISED certification by Uster Technologies AG, Switzerland, which reflects CTM's commitment to excellence. The operational staff guided students through the mill's end-to-end manufacturing process, from sourcing raw materials to producing high-quality finished goods. Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Rector, Kathua Campus, emphasized the significance of industrial visits in bridging theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Dr. Ritu Sharma, who organized the visit, encouraged students to participate actively in such initiatives, while Mr. Gaurav Sharma ensured smooth coordination with the company. Faculty members Dr. Surekha Phakwrya and Ms. Princee Verma accompanied the students.
