Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 18: The Cyber Cell of Jammu Police successfully resolved an online financial fraud case, recovering Rs 4,26,000 out of Rs 4,45,999 stolen from a victim's account. The complaint was lodged on 10th November 2024, after the victim unknowingly installed a fake APK file on 1st November. The malware allowed hackers to access the victim's bank details and transfer funds fraudulently. Despite the delay in reporting, the Cyber Cell acted swiftly, leveraging advanced technology and expertise to trace the transactions. Under the leadership of the District Police Office (DPO) Jammu, the team demonstrated exceptional professionalism, preventing the majority of the stolen amount from being misused. Jammu Police continues to excel in combating cybercrime, ensuring prompt action and safeguarding citizens against digital frauds. |
