Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 18: In a major success under Operation Kamdhenu, the Jammu Police thwarted a bovine smuggling attempt in Sub-division Nagrota. A team from Police Post Manwal intercepted a vehicle, a truck bearing registration number HP11/4861, that was transporting seven bovines. The truck, en route from Manwal to Srinagar, met with an accident near Kishanpur Manwal, close to Tawi Bridge. The driver fled the scene under the cover of darkness. The police team managed to rescue the seven bovines and seized the vehicle. A case (FIR No. 251/2024) has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli under sections 281, 125, 223, BNS, and 11 of the PCA Act. Investigations are ongoing. The public has lauded the police for their unwavering efforts and strict actions against bovine smugglers. |
