Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 18: The Institute of Music & Fine Arts (IMFA), University of Jammu, has revived the Baithak tradition, offering a vibrant platform for nurturing talent and celebrating Indian classical arts. The November Baithak featured stellar performances, including a graceful Kathak recital, a Sitar rendition of Raag Miya-Malhar, a dynamic Tabla solo, and a melodious violin duet. Students also contributed academically with insightful presentations on classical music. Prof. Sohaib Malik, Principal of IMFA, commended the students' dedication, while Principal Secretary of Culture, Suresh Gupta, lauded the initiative. Dr. Priya Dutta announced the introduction of a "Best Performer Award" for upcoming Baithaks. This initiative continues to enrich Jammu's cultural landscape, inspiring the next generation of artists. |
