Kavinder urges LG Sinha to grant age relaxation | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 21: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, has called on the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, to grant age relaxation for the aspirants of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Constable recruitment. A delegation of aspirants approached Gupta, expressing concerns over the significant delay in the recruitment process, which was initially scheduled for 2016. After an eight-year delay, many candidates who were previously eligible have now surpassed the age limit of 28, with some reaching 34-35 years. The aspirants noted that several other states and Union Territories have implemented age relaxation policies for government job candidates, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, which severely impacted the career prospects of many young individuals. In response, Gupta urged LG Sinha to consider granting an age relaxation of at least 35 years, allowing deserving candidates to have a fair opportunity to serve in the Jammu and Kashmir Police. He stressed that this measure would provide a much-needed lifeline to aspirants who have been waiting for years due to delays beyond their control. Gupta also highlighted the pro-youth initiatives under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including schemes aimed at enhancing employment and skill development opportunities. He appealed to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to take full advantage of the welfare schemes introduced by the Modi government. |
