RAMNAGAR, Nov 25: The Department of Geology at Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and NCC Unit, organized a one-day workshop on "Disaster Management." The event, held under the patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, featured Dr. Yudhbir Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Geology, University of Jammu, as the resource person.
Dr. Singh delivered a comprehensive session focusing on earthquakes, the types and causes of disasters, and their economic impact globally and in India. He emphasized that India is among the most disaster-prone countries, urging better preparedness and management strategies.
Principal Dr. Anthal praised the workshop as an eye-opener for students, while faculty members and students actively participated, making the event a success. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Pandita, IQAC Coordinator. |
