Samba, Nov 26: Police in Samba district have successfully thwarted a bovine smuggling attempt, arresting two smugglers and rescuing 24 bovines. The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal, where a police team from Police Post Rajpura, led by Incharge PP Rajpura under SHO PS Ghagwal, acted swiftly to intercept the smugglers. The smugglers were attempting to transport the bovines on foot from Kathua towards Samba via the border road. The arrested individuals have been identified as Pawan Singh, son of Teju Ram, and Aslam, son of Khalil Ahmed, both residents of district Samba. A case, FIR No. 164/2024 under sections 223 BNS and 11 PCA Act, has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal. The investigation is ongoing. |
