| GDC Reasi students visit SMVDU's School of Biotechnology | | |  Early Times Report
KATRA, Nov 26: Students from Government Degree College (GDC) Reasi, accompanied by faculty members Dr. Mehak and Dr. Wajahad, visited the School of Biotechnology (SoBT) at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU). The educational tour aimed to provide hands-on exposure to advanced biotechnology labs and insights into research and academic opportunities. Dr. Ratna Chandra, Head of SoBT, welcomed the group and highlighted the significance of practical learning in biotechnology, emphasizing the need for collaboration between institutions to inspire budding scientists. Event coordinator Dr. Parvez Slathia introduced the students to undergraduate and postgraduate programs, career prospects, and ongoing research initiatives in the department.
The students toured various labs, observing advanced equipment and ongoing projects, which demonstrated real-world applications of biotechnology concepts. The visit reinforced the importance of technical skills in modern research and innovation.
SMVDU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pragati Kumar, commended the SoBT for its outreach efforts, stressing the importance of fostering academic connections with local colleges to inspire regional talent toward careers in biosciences. |
