Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 26: IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu, in Collaboration with Vidya Bharti Uchcha Shiksha Sansthan (VBUSS), Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh Prant, organized a National Webinar on the theme "Understanding the Indian Constitution" on November 26, 2024 to commemorate the Constitution Day. The event took place through online mode today on 26.11.2024 bringing together distinguished speakers and academicians to reflect on the significance and enduring legacy of the Indian Constitution. The program began with the welcome address by Dr. Jai Prakash Verma, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu. Dr. Verma emphasized the importance of creating awareness about the Constitution's fundamental principles and its relevance to modern India. Prof. Surender Kumar Sharma, Coordinator, VBUSS (Uttar Kshettra) & Professor, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, delivered an insightful talk highlighting the visionary framework of the Constitution and its guiding principles for governance and justice. Prof. J.N. Baliya, President, VBUSS (Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh Prant) & Professor, Central University of Jammu, elaborated on the Constitution's role in promoting unity in diversity and the responsibilities of citizens in upholding constitutional values. Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Assistant Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu presented formal vote of thanks. The session was moderated by Dr. Rakesh Bharti, faculty member at Govt. College of Education, Canal Road Jammu (Cluster University of Jammu), who facilitated an engaging discussion, ensuring the participation of attendees from diverse academic backgrounds. The webinar witnessed enthusiastic participation from scholars, students, and professionals in the form of Dr. Asha Upadhyay, Dr. Vikram Singh, Dr. Ram Singh and others making it a significant platform to deepen the understanding of India's constitutional ethos.
