Early Times Report AKHNOOR, Nov 27: Local residents in Akhnoor staged a protest on Wednesday, demanding the immediate repair of a 500-meter stretch of the main road near the steel bridge over the Chenab River. The road has remained in disrepair for the last three years, ever since the road widening project was halted due to ongoing land acquisition for a bridge construction. Residents have expressed frustration over the deteriorating conditions, which have made living in the area increasingly difficult. They reported that soil erosion is causing water and mud to enter their homes, disrupting daily life. The protestors, including locals such as Yash Kumar, Kamlesh Kumari, Sudarshan Kumari, and Som Chand, raised slogans against the administration and the Public Works Department (PWD), urging them to take immediate action.
