White Coat Ceremony at Indira Gandhi Government Dental College | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 27: Indira Gandhi Government Dental College today hosted white coat ceremony and orientation program to welcome BDS and MDS freshers batch 2024-25 at the college auditorium. This is a memorable experience for students taking their initial steps into the noble profession of dentistry. Dr Praveen Akhtar Lone, Principal and Dean IGGDC, welcomed chief guest of the occasion, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Secretary Health and Medical education, J&K. She welcomed the new batch of BDS and MDS students and praised them for their hardwork and dedication towards studies. A total of students 62 BDS and 14 MDS students of the 2024 batch of IGGDC were welcomed into the dental fraternity by all the HODs. White coat ceremony was followed by oath taking. Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, speaking on the occasion said, being a dental student is a life changing event, the two most important attributes to be a doctor are intelligence and hard work. He guided the students to focus on discipline and career with time bound targets. Shree Munish Chopra, advocate speaker of the day, spoke on ethical values to be carried out throughout the course. He further introduced the functions of anti-ragging committees and squad. Dr. Reecha Gupta, Prof. & HOD, convened the program, welcoming the Pricipal, HOD's of all the Departments, staff, paramedical staff, students and parents. The event concluded with National Anthem. |
