Jammu, Dec 1: Dr. Azhar Malik, Head of the Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics at IGGDC, Jammu, was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation by Hon'ble Justice Tashi Rabstan of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh. The recognition was for his exemplary efforts in organizing restorative dental and awareness camps across district jails in Jammu province. The camps, aimed at addressing dental complaints of inmates, were held in various jails, including Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Kot Bhalwal, Kathua, Reasi, and Jammu. A team of expert doctors, led by Dr. Malik, conducted screenings for oral conditions like caries and provided restorative treatments. The initiative was inspired by issues highlighted during visits by the Executive Chairman of J&K Legal Services Authority and was inaugurated by District Sessions Judges of respective districts. Free oral hygiene kits, including toothpaste, toothbrushes, and medicines, were distributed, and lectures on maintaining oral health were delivered. The camps were conducted under the guidance of Dr. Parveen Akhter Loan, Principal and Dean of IGGDC Jammu, who has consistently encouraged such public health initiatives. |
