Early Times Report VIJAYPUR, Dec 2: The Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur, in collaboration with the J&K AIDS Control Society and the Department of Health & Medical Education, organized a Red Run to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS. The initiative aimed to educate the community, particularly the youth, on prevention, early detection, and reducing stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS. The event, which saw enthusiastic participation from nearly 80 student volunteers, began with a welcome address by Prof. Poonam Kundan, Convener of the Red Ribbon Club. She reiterated the club's commitment to spreading awareness and fostering support for those affected by HIV/AIDS. Dr. Vandana Verma, Principal of the college, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in creating awareness and promoting a culture of prevention. Senior faculty members, including Prof. Mamta Gupta, Dr. Anoop Bhagat, and Prof. Ritu Bhagat, supported the event, while coordination efforts were led by Prof. Poonam Kundan along with co-coordinators Dr. Naseem Choudhary, Dr. Jan Wani, and other faculty members. The Red Run concluded with the distribution of refreshments to all participants.
