Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 7 bovines rescued | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 3: In a significant operation under Operation Kamdhenu, the Jammu Police successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and rescued seven bovines in Sub-division Nagrota. The police team from Police Station Nagrota intercepted a vehicle, bearing registration number JK02CN/4734, at Naka Ban Toll Plaza. The vehicle was found transporting the bovines illegally. The driver of the vehicle, Latif Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed from Gujjar Basti, Beli Charana, was arrested at the scene. The police seized the vehicle and rescued the seven bovines, preventing them from being illegally transported. A case, FIR No. 318/2024, has been registered under Sections 223/BNS 11 of the PCA Act at Police Station Nagrota. The investigation is ongoing. The operation has received widespread praise from the general public for the police’s vigilant actions and continued crackdown on bovine smuggling. The authorities have assured that strict measures will continue to be taken to curb such illegal activities. |
