Udhampur police rescue 14 bovines, arrest 3 smugglers | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Dec 3: In a major crackdown against bovine smuggling, Udhampur District Police rescued 14 bovines, arrested three smugglers, and seized three vehicles involved in separate smuggling attempts. Police Station Udhampur: A police team at Jakhani naka point intercepted a Mahindra Bolero (JK02BB-3061) and rescued four bovines. The vehicle was seized, and a case under relevant laws was registered. Police Station Rehambal: In a second operation, police rescued eight bovines and apprehended two smugglers: Umar Hussain Doie (resident of Anantnag) Mushtaq Ahmed (resident of Ramban) Two vehicles used in the crime (JK21H-1983 and JK14H-6958) were seized, and separate FIRs were registered under relevant sections. Police Post Damnote: A third attempt was foiled when police arrested Balvinder Kumar (resident of Reasi), who was found transporting two bovines on foot without valid permission. An FIR (65/2024 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act) was lodged at Panchari Police Station.
