| Two interstate smugglers arrested in Udhampur | | |  Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Dec 3: District Police arrested two interstate narcotics smugglers and seized 20 kg of poppy straw during a vehicle check at Motorshed naka point in Chenani.
The operation was led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Chenani Police Station. The police stopped a truck, bearing registration number PB22K-8258, for inspection. Upon checking, the contraband was recovered from the vehicle. The truck driver, Gurmej Singh (son of Baba Singh), and his associate, Palwinder Singh (son of Darshan Singh), both residents of Amritsar, were arrested on the spot.
A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway. This operation underscores the commitment of Udhampur Police to combat drug trafficking. |
