Early Times Report KATHUA, Dec 4: The Department of Home Science at Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an insightful lecture on "Eat Healthy and Stay Healthy." Held on December 4, 2024, the event aimed to raise awareness about healthy eating among teaching and non-teaching staff. The keynote speaker, Prof. Ashwani Khajuria, Associate Professor of Food Science Technology at GCW Kathua, shared valuable insights on balanced diets, sustainable eating habits, and the role of nutrition in preventing lifestyle diseases. The program began with a welcome address by Ms. Shivani Sawhney, Assistant Professor of Home Science, followed by remarks from Principal Prof. Seema Mir, who emphasized the importance of a balanced diet for physical and mental well-being. She commended the efforts of the Home Science Department and IQAC in organizing the event. Under the leadership of Prof. Neelam Bhagat, Head of the Department of Home Science, the lecture provided practical strategies for adopting nutritious eating habits. The organizing committee, including Prof. Neelam Bhagat, Shivani Sawhney, Dr. Sabahat, and Dr. Saveela, worked diligently to ensure the event's success. The lecture saw active participation from senior faculty members, including IQAC Coordinator Prof. Ravinder Kour, Prof. R.K. Pandita, Dr. R.K. Manhas, and Dr. Ram Singh, alongside numerous staff members.
