Early Times Report RAJOURI, Dec 4: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma on Wednesday chaired weekly Block Diwas program at Challas, a village situated near the Line of Control (LOC). The event witnessed a significant turnout from the local populace, who raised various developmental and infrastructural issues. Key demands raised by general public were PMGSY road to Challas, Doongi to Challas road, Installation of a hand pump and boundary wall for GHS Challas, repair and upgradation of the sub-center hospital, construction of a store for agriculture seeds and conducting awareness programs for pensions, water supply schemes and the construction of a bridge in the village, display of rate and beneficiaries lists at the ration depot, provision of ration for Anganwadi Centers, organization of camps for issuing domicile certificates, setting up a dairy farm and construction of a building for Government Degree College (GDC) Doongi, requisition of poles and transformers, and development of a tourism hut and park in Challas. The DC addressed each issue, consulting the concerned officers and issuing clear directives for resolution. He directed to blacklist the contractor responsible for delay in the construction of PMGSY road to Challas, and instructed the authorities to commence work within a week. The DC directed for speedy construction of the school boundary wall, encouraging regular classes at mobile schools and learning assessment of students, deployment of an ambulance at Bagla Nadlaya and a doctor at PHC Nadala. The opening of a seed store at Challas and the engagement of a Krishi Udyami were emphasized. A vaccination calendar for animals was ordered for timely awareness and implementation. Furthermore, Executive Engineer, Jal Jeevan Mission was tasked to make pending schemes functional at the earliest. The BDO was instructed to prioritize material payments, and the ACD was directed to investigate the cause of delays. |
