Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 5: Taranjit Singh Tony, General Secretary of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee and DDC Suchetgarh, has strongly condemned the attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President, at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. In a press statement issued here today, the senior Congress leader expressed deep shock and disappointment over this deplorable incident, stating, "It is highly unbecoming for anyone, especially a Sikh, to carry out an attack inside the Golden Temple, a place that holds immense religious significance for millions of Sikhs worldwide. Such actions tarnish the sanctity of this sacred place." Tony emphasized that such acts of violence are not a reflection of bravery or valour, but rather a display of cowardice and disrespect. "These kinds of acts are highly condemnable and do not represent the true spirit of Sikhism. The perpetrators of such violence must be held accountable and brought to justice," he added. Further, Tony reminded that Sukhbir Singh Badal had already been serving a 'Tankhah' (Punishment), highlighting the unnecessary nature of this assault. "Attacking a leader who is already undergoing punishment for his actions is not only senseless but also goes against the principles of justice and righteousness that we hold dear," he added. Tony called for unity and peace among the Sikh community, urging all to work together to ensure that such incidents do not mar the reputation of the Sikh faith. |
