Doda, Dec 5: District Police Doda successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt, seizing a vehicle loaded with three bovine animals in the early hours today.
Following the directions of SSP Doda Sh. Sandeep Kumar Mehta JKPS, a police team led by IC Police Post Pul Doda set up a checkpoint on the Doda-Bhaderwah road. Around 5:30 AM, the team intercepted a vehicle (Registration No. JK19A-1270) traveling from Bhaderwah towards Batote. Upon spotting the police party, the driver fled the scene, but the vehicle was found to be carrying three bovine animals, which were tied without proper feeding arrangements or permission.
The police seized the vehicle on the spot, and a case (FIR No. 295/2024 under Section 223 BNS and 11 PC Act) has been registered at Police Station Doda. The investigation is ongoing. |
