DODA, Dec 8: District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, Dhananter Singh Kotwal today chaired a meeting to discuss preparations for the upcoming Winter Festival-2024 at Tilligarh Tourist Complex Bhaderwah. Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sandeep Kumar Mehta, and Joint Director of Tourism, Sunaina Sharma Mehta along with other senior officers from concerned department were present in the meeting. The meeting also witnessed participation from the Hotel Association, Tourism Association, Tour and Travel Operators, and other key stakeholders of the tourism sector. Discussions were focused on finalizing the schedule and arrangements for the Winter Festival-2024, which will showcase the scenic beauty and cultural heritage of Bhaderwah sub division. The festival, set to be held in the last week of December 2024, will feature events at prominent locations such as Jai Valley, Guldanda, Padhri, and Bhaderwah Fort. Activities will include adventure sports, cultural performances, and local cuisine, aimed at promoting Bhaderwah as a premier winter tourism destination. Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairman emphasized the importance of collective efforts to make the event a grand success. The Deputy Commissioner Doda directed the concerned departments to ensure all preparations, including infrastructure, security, and hospitality, are completed well in time. The SSP Doda, highlighted the need for robust security arrangements to ensure the safety of tourists and participants during the festival. The Joint Director of Tourism highlighted the role of such events in boosting the local economy and creating employment opportunities. Stakeholders assured their full cooperation and shared innovative ideas to attract a larger influx of tourists this winter season. |
