Jammu, Dec 8: The J&K Sub-Junior Wushu team returned triumphant from the 24th Sub-Junior National Wushu Championship held in Tarn Taran, Punjab, from December 1 to 6, 2024. The team secured an impressive haul of 16 medals, including 3 Gold, 2 Silver, and 11 Bronze. In the Sanda event, Geenakshi clinched a Gold medal, while in the Taolu event, Arzath Wangoo and Mohd Arman Malik also bagged Gold medals. The championship was organized by the Punjab Wushu Association under the aegis of the Wushu Association of India. He highlighted the recent procurement of Wushu equipment from an agency approved by the International Wushu Federation, which contributed significantly to the team’s success. Sh. Vijay Saraf (President) and Bhavneet (General Secretary) of the J&K Wushu Association also extended their congratulations to the team and expressed gratitude to the J&K Sports Council for their continued support in helping athletes achieve national and international recognition.
