Rajouri, Dec 8: Director Agriculture Jammu, Shri Arvinder Singh Reen, visited the Nowshera Maize and Agro Producers Cooperative Limited (FPO) in Panchayat Bhawani, Zone Dibber, District Rajouri. The visit aimed to engage with the Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) members and strengthen agricultural initiatives in the Jammu region. During the visit, Shri Reen observed the diverse range of products offered by the FPO, including organic corn flour and millets. He praised the high quality of their products and the professional packaging, which reflects the FPO’s commitment to quality and excellence. Shri Sunil Choudhary, Chairman of the Nowshera Maize and Agro Producers Cooperative Limited, shared details about the FPO’s operations. The FPO collects maize from local farmers, processes it, and packages it for sale. It is also working on a unique Millet Parsad for the Mata Mangla Devi Temple, which is being marketed across various states in India. Additionally, the FPO is a member of Unati, a collective supporting farmer-based initiatives. Director Agriculture commended the dedication of the FPO members and assured them of the department’s full support. He highlighted the Agriculture Department’s commitment to promoting local agricultural enterprises and emphasized the importance of e-marketplaces in enhancing the visibility and reach of FPO products. The visit was attended by senior officials from the Agriculture Department, including Chief Agriculture Officer S. Sohan Singh, SDAO Nowshera, AEO Dibber, and other agriculture officers, along with directors and members of the FPO. This engagement reaffirmed the Agriculture Department’s dedication to empowering local farmers, supporting Farmer Producer Organizations, and boosting the agricultural economy in the Jammu region. |
