Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 8: A review meeting of the Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (T.N.W.S) was held today under the chairmanship of Rajinder P. Kakkar. The meeting addressed several pressing issues faced by the residents of Trikuta Nagar colony and came to a consensus on forwarding the following key suggestions to the concerned authorities through print and electronic media:
1. Idle Car Parking Space:
There is sufficient idle space available for car parking near the T.N.W.S. Complex in the Main Market area, which is JDA land. The residents of Trikuta Nagar are facing parking issues. It was unanimously agreed to request the JDA to fence this land, create proper entry and exit points, and convert it into a functional car parking space while generating revenue.
2. Reconstruction of Underpass Road:
The underpass connecting Sector 4 & 5 to Extension Trikuta Nagar up to Bharat Petrol Pump should be reconstructed using proper concrete materials and equipped with a solid drainage system. The underpass has been prone to frequent damages during every rainy season.
3. Reconstruction of Colony Lanes with Quality Infrastructure:
All lanes in the Trikuta Nagar colony should be reconstructed using lock tiles from drain to drain. Additionally, solar-powered street lights should be installed to make Trikuta Nagar a smart colony under the Jammu Smart City initiative. It was noted that the existing blacktopped lanes were substandard and required replacement.
4. Protection of Nallas and Anti-Garbage Measures:
All nallas running through Trikuta Nagar should be fenced with wire mesh to prevent garbage dumping. Hoardings should also be installed to penalize individuals responsible for throwing garbage into the nallas.
It was suggested that certain areas may benefit from the installation of CCTV cameras to monitor and identify violators, especially during odd hours.
The meeting witnessed a large gathering of concerned residents. Notable participants included Dr. T.R. Gupta, O.P. Sharma, K.K. Mahajan, Er. Ravinder Kaul, Er. Ashok Kumar Arora, Vijay Gupta, S. Amarjeet Singh, and Krishan Lal Gupta, who actively contributed to the discussion.
The Secretary of T.N.W.S., Jammu, emphasized the importance of these measures in improving the living standards and infrastructure of Trikuta Nagar.
These suggestions will now be formally forwarded to the relevant authorities for swift action.
