SCERT J&K hosts seminar on NCF implementation challenges | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 13: The SCERT J&K Divisional Office Jammu organized a two-day seminar on "Challenges in the Implementation of National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS) & National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE)" from December 12-13, 2024. The seminar, under the mentorship of Prof. (Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director SCERT J&K, gathered school administrators, educators, and policymakers to discuss creating a positive school culture and ecosystem that supports comprehensive student development. The seminar was inaugurated by Subah Mehta (JKAS), Joint Director of Directorate of School Education Jammu, who emphasized the importance of aligning school practices with the new policies outlined in the NCFs to transition from school efficiency to improvement. Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director SCERT J&K, highlighted the role of NCFs as a catalyst for reimagining education, urging participants to explore strategies for improving educational standards. The seminar included keynote addresses and panel discussions with experts like Dr. J N Baliya (Professor, Central University of Jammu), Dr. Rakesh Bharti, Dr. Neeraj Jandial, Manu Vasudeva, and others. Topics covered included curriculum goals, competencies, pedagogy, Indian knowledge systems, values, school culture, and assessment techniques for improving learning outcomes. The seminar offered participants the chance to engage with experts, share experiences, and address the challenges of implementing NCFs. The event concluded with feedback from participants and a vote of thanks by Sh. Swaran Singh Jaral, Head of Academic Unit-II. |
