Jammu police foils bovine smuggling attempt | | | Early Times Report SAMBA, Dec 15: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers, the Jammu & Kashmir Police foiled a smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal. Seven bovines were rescued, and the vehicle used in the smuggling attempt was seized. A police team from Police Station Ghagwal, led by SHO PS Ghagwal, intercepted a load carrier bearing registration number JK02CT-6897 during a vehicle check at NHW Naka Tapyal. The vehicle, coming from the Kathua side, was found to be illegally transporting the bovines tied in a cruel manner without valid permission. All rescued animals have been moved to a safer location. A case under FIR No. 175/2024, registered under Section 223 BNS 11 PCA Act, has been lodged at PS Ghagwal. The police have begun an investigation to identify the perpetrators and their network. This operation highlights Jammu Police's dedication to enforcing laws against animal cruelty and illegal smuggling.
