JAMMU, Dec 16: A one-week workshop on "Research Methodology" was inaugurated today by Prof. S.K. Pandita, Director, Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre, University of Jammu. The workshop is jointly organised by the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre and the Department of Urdu, University of Jammu. Around 65 research scholars and faculty members from various university departments and colleges are participating in the workshop.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Pandita elaborated on the aims and objectives of the workshop, emphasising its significance for research scholars. He underscored the value of both online and offline workshops in introducing scholars to new research techniques and digital platforms. Prof. Pandita noted that such workshops encourage interaction with external experts and provide insight into ongoing research trends across the country. He lauded the Department of Urdu for successfully conducting the workshop and assured full support-both moral and financial-from the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre for future initiatives.
Prof. Mohd Reyaz Ahmad, who presided over the function, discussed key aspects of research, including the process of choosing a research topic, preparing a synopsis, and maintaining research ethics. He informed participants that expert-led sessions in the coming days would delve into these areas in greater detail. Earlier, Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, Head, Department of Urdu, welcomed the participants. Highlighting the importance of offline workshops, he emphasised that physical interactions with distinguished experts offer a unique opportunity for deeper learning.
