DC Kupwara chairs RTA meeting

KUPWARA, Dec 16: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today convened a meeting of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) to review applications for different route permits across the district.
The meeting focused on discussing various matters related to public transport in the district and sanctioning of route permits.
During the session, the DC, who also serves as the chairman of the RTA, along with other members, meticulously reviewed applications for road permits.
A total of 42 applications which include 11 Mumkin cases were received for issuance of Letter of Authority (LA) to get District Permits and local route permits.
All the 42 applications which pertained to 18 Magic cabs and 24 Mini Busses were approved by the RTA after thorough review and discussion.
It was informed in the meeting that this extra fleet of mini busses and cabs added in the district will provide a smooth and comfortable travelling experience to the people especially living in far flung areas of the district.
On the occasion, the DC urged the Traffic Department to ensure proper traffic regulation and take necessary action against violators, underscoring the commitment to maintaining order on the roads.
The meeting was attended by ASP Kupwara, Dy. SP Handwara and ARTO Kupwara.
