JAMMU, Dec 17: NGOs, particularly the Sikhs4All Foundation, are playing a vital role in uplifting society by addressing key issues like education, healthcare, and community empowerment. This was stated by Taranjit Singh Tony, General Secretary of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee and DDC Suchetgarh, during his visit to the head office of the Sikhs4All Foundation in Digiana area of Jammu city. He was warmly welcomed by the foundation’s staff members. Notably, the Sikhs4All Foundation, known for its unwavering commitment to social welfare, offers a wide range of services to those in need. These include free education for underprivileged children, shelter for the homeless, access to a free library, a cyber lab, and printing facilities. The foundation also provides free internet services to students from marginalized communities, empowering them to pursue education without barriers. Earlier, Tony attended the foundation’s Annual Function, where a documentary highlighting its initiatives served as an eye-opener for many attendees. Impressed by the foundation’s efforts, Tony announced that he would allocate his entire annual fund of Rs. 71 lakhs to establish a world-class computer lab and library at Suchetgarh. The library will be named after Dr. Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar, in recognition of his contributions to education and social justice. Tony emphasized that students from across the Jammu region would benefit from the state-of-the-art facilities. He praised the foundation for its tireless work in uplifting society’s most vulnerable members and appealed to the public to donate generously to such noble causes. The senior Congress leader also urged more individuals to follow the Sikh Gurus’ teachings of ‘DASWAND’ and contribute regularly to the welfare of society. He promised to continue supporting the foundation, raising funds, and appealing to political leaders to contribute to the cause of social development. |
