Agencies MANDI GOBINDARH, Dec 17: Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav 2024 Celebrated by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages at Desh Bhagat University (DBU). Themed Bhasha Anek Bhaav Ek (Many Languages, One Emotion), the program saw enthusiastic participation from students across various departments in vibrant events, including debates, poster competitions, and poetry recitations. The event was organized under the guidance of Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur. Dr. Ajaypal Singh, Head of the Hindi Department, inaugurated the program by shedding light on the significance of Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav, which commemorates India's linguistic heritage and celebrates the birth anniversary of Mahakavi Subramaniam Bharati. Dr. Ajaypal Singh emphasized that this year's theme, Unity through Languages, reflects India's unique identity as a civilization that thrives on linguistic diversity. Dr. Sharanpal Singh, Director of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, spoke about the festival's goals, which include fostering national unity, nurturing a love for Indian literature, and promoting multilingualism among students. The celebrations featured dynamic competitions that highlighted the creative and intellectual talents of students. Amrita Rajput emerged as the winner in the poetry recitation category, while Noor Mohammad and Bhumika Sharma won accolades in the debate competition. Surendra Singh and Aditya Singh were recognized for their exceptional contributions in the poster competition. Winners were honored with awards and certificates to mark their achievements. Several esteemed faculty members, including Dr. Surjit Kaur Patheja, Director Media, Dr. Amandeep Sharma, Director Hotel Management, were present alongside Dr. Kulbhushan Kumar, Dr. Dharmendra Singh, Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Dr. Renu Sharma, and others.
