Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 17: Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust (GDCT) organized a solemn event to commemorate the 2nd death anniversary of its founder, Baba-e-Qoum Dr. Masud Ahmed Choudhary. A visionary leader, former ADGP, and the founding Vice-Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Dr. Choudhary was honored for his remarkable contributions to education and the upliftment of the Gujjar-Bakerwal community. The event saw a large gathering, including Cabinet Ministers Javed Ahmed Rana and Satish Sharma, sitting MLAs, former legislators, senior politicians, bureaucrats, and civil society members. Floral tributes were offered at Dr. Choudhary's grave, followed by prayers led by Hafiz Muhammad Yasir. Chairman GDCT, Mr. Arshad Ali Choudhary, highlighted the trust's achievements under Dr. Choudhary's leadership and pledged to continue his mission, including plans for establishing a Tribal University, Tribal Women's College, and other educational institutions. Speakers, including retired bureaucrats, advocates, and trustees, recalled Dr. Choudhary's dedication to education, social reform, and preserving the cultural heritage of the Gujjar-Bakerwal community. A documentary showcasing his life and work, produced by Dr. Javed Rahi, was also screened. In his tribute, Hon'ble Minister Javed Ahmed Rana remembered Dr. Choudhary as a guiding force and a visionary who devoted his life to the betterment of marginalized communities. Hon'ble Minister Satish Sharma praised Dr. Choudhary's pivotal role in founding BGSBU and GDCT, calling him an icon of social reform and education. The event concluded with heartfelt tributes from Dr. Choudhary's grandsons, family members, and notable dignitaries from various fields, all vowing to uphold his legacy of unity, education, and social justice. |
