Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 17: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), J&K-UT, conducted a comprehensive free medical and eye checkup camp at Government High School, Rangpur Maulana, RS Pura. The camp was conducted in a Mobile Testing Van, ensuring advanced medical facilities reached the rural community directly.The initiative aimed to provide accessible healthcare services to the local community and raise awareness about hygiene and wellness. During the event, a team of skilled doctors and paramedics including Dr. Kavita Nijhon, Medical Officer, Ravi Kant Magotra, Supervisor Pharmacist, Kuldeep Bhat, Sr. Ophthalmologist Technician and Vironica Marwah, Field Officer performed general health checkups, screened students for eye-related issues, and offered on-the-spot consultations. Alongside medical services, free sanitary napkins were distributed to promote menstrual health and hygiene among women and adolescent girls. The use of the mobile testing van enabled the camp to reach underserved populations efficiently, ensuring easy access to quality healthcare services. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students as well as teachers, with over 80 beneficiaries availing themselves of the services. Specialists emphasized the importance of regular health checkups and maintaining hygienic practices. The camp was organized under the close supervision of Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary, IRCS-J&K. He stated, "the IRCS reiterated its commitment to improving healthcare accessibility in rural and underserved areas. This initiative is part of the IRCS J&K's ongoing efforts to address healthcare challenges, particularly in remote regions, and to foster a culture of health awareness". |
