Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 17: The District Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu today announced a one-day seminar to commemorate the martyrdom of the Char Sahibzadas of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and to celebrate the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The announcement was made during a media briefing by DGPC Vice President S. Balvinder Singh, accompanied by S. Surjeet Singh (General Secretary), S. Harjit Singh (Member DGPC & In-charge Dharam Parchar), S. Tejinder Singh, and S. Avtar Singh (Members DGPC Jammu). The seminar is scheduled to take place on December 19th, from 10:45 AM to 4 PM, at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu, in collaboration with the J&K Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages. Highlighting the details, S. Balvinder Singh informed that the seminar will be held in two sessions. Morning Session: The first session will begin at 10:45 AM and continue until the lunch break. During this session, three distinguished scholars will address the audience. Keynote Address: Dr. Harshinder Kaur, a renowned Punjabi writer from Patiala followed by address by Dr. Harsimran Singh, Lecturer, Punjabi Department, Jammu University, Presidential Address: Dr. Jaspal Singh, former Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University, Patiala, and former Indian High Commissioner to Mozambique & Swaziland. Post-Lunch Session: In the afternoon, the celebrated theatrical group Punjabi Lok Rang, California USA will present the Punjabi Natak "Zafarnama", written and directed by S. Surinder Singh Dhanoa from the USA. This acclaimed play has been staged globally and is currently being performed across cities and villages of Punjab. Notably, the group is visiting Jammu specifically at the request of DGPC Jammu. On the occasion, S. Surjeet Singh, along with other DGPC members, extended a heartfelt appeal to the Sikh Sangat of Jammu, particularly Sikh youth from colleges and universities, to attend the seminar in large numbers and pay homage to the unparalleled sacrifice of the Char Sahibzadas. He also urged all Gurudwara committees to actively inform and mobilize their respective congregations to ensure the event's success. |
