JAMMU, Dec 17: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, stated today that National Conference leader Omar Abdullah's recent comments on the integrity of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have fully validated the BJP's long-standing stance on the issue and left the Congress party embarrassed. Gupta emphasized that Omar's acknowledgment of the unchanged nature of EVMs, regardless of election results, confirmed the BJP's position on the machines' transparency and fairness. "For years, the BJP has advocated for the integrity of EVMs, and now even opposition leaders like Omar are recognizing the truth," Gupta said.
The senior BJP leader criticized the Congress for its continuous allegations against the integrity of EVMs following electoral defeats, calling their claims baseless. He pointed out that Congress leaders often blame EVMs when they lose elections, but Omar's statement has left them "red-faced." Gupta urged the Congress to accept defeat gracefully and focus on addressing its internal shortcomings instead of making excuses.
