Early Times Report NAGROTA, Dec 21: The Department of Mathematics at Government Degree College Nagrota, under the aegis of IQAC, celebrated National Mathematics Day to commemorate the 137th birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan, one of India's greatest mathematicians. The event featured a poster-making competition where students creatively illustrated Ramanujan's remarkable contributions to mathematics. A special screening of The Man Who Knew Infinity, a biographical film on Ramanujan's journey from humble beginnings to his collaboration with mathematician G.H. Hardy at Cambridge, captivated the audience. Principal Prof. Anjali Mahajan congratulated the participants and commended the Department of Mathematics for inspiring students to excel in the field. Dr. Neetu Singh, HoD Mathematics, welcomed the gathering and highlighted Ramanujan's groundbreaking contributions, achieved despite a lack of formal education in the subject. The event proceedings were conducted by Dr. Sunil Kumar, with faculty members Prof. Shalini Raina, Prof. Praveen Singh, and Prof. Aashiqui Hussain Parray gracing the occasion.
