Model Academy celebrates 88th Annual Day "Jeevan Utsav"

JAMMU, Dec 21: Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER, celebrated its 88th Annual Day with great enthusiasm, marking an extraordinary milestone in its legacy of excellence. This year's event proved to be a memorable occasion, celebrating students' achievements whilst reflecting on the school's journey of growth and success. The celebration brought together students, teachers and distinguished guests in a spectacular showcase of talent, achievement and unity.
The event was graced by Chief Guest, whilst Dr Renu Gupta, Chairperson of MIER, served as guest of honour. Other distinguished guests included Dr Adit Gupta, Director of MIER; Ms Rupa Gupta, Joint Director of MIER; Mr Pramod Kumar Srivastava, Principal; Mr J K Dhiman, Vice Principal; Academic Managers of different wings of the school; members of the Administration and IQAC Team, teaching and non-teaching staff, along with proud parents of academic achievers and students.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest. Dr Adit Gupta, Director of MIER, delivered a welcome address highlighting the Chief Guest's achievements and emphasising the importance of such events in fostering creativity, teamwork and community spirit.
In keeping with this year's theme, 'Jeevan Utsav - A Celebration of Life', the programme presented a kaleidoscope of colours and sounds. Students performed various captivating acts, including classical dance, a stirring patriotic dance, an innovative fusion dance blending traditional and modern elements, a jungle safari performance, a soulful rendition by the school orchestra and an amusing theatrical sketch. The young performers from Humming Buds and the special school captured hearts with their delightful dance performance, their innocence, enthusiasm and natural energy bringing smiles to all present.
The school recognised students who excelled in academics, sports and extracurricular activities, inspiring their peers to strive for excellence. Chief Guest Mr Sethi shared insightful thoughts on education, perseverance and holistic development, motivating the audience with his words. He specifically commended Model Academy for maintaining its position as one of the region's premier educational institutions for nearly nine decades. Mr Sethi highlighted the school's remarkable achievements, including academic excellence in board examinations, outstanding performance in national-level competitions, and the successful integration of modern technology with traditional teaching methods. He particularly praised the school's emphasis on value-based education and its commitment to nurturing not just academic excellence but also character development. The Chief Guest also lauded the institution's efforts in promoting sports and cultural activities, noting how several of its alumni have achieved distinction in various fields at both national and international levels.
Mrs Rupa Gupta, Joint Director of MIER, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing pride in the students' efforts, noting, "This Annual Day reflects the hard work, talent and team spirit of our students and staff. It is a celebration of our collective achievements and the vibrant culture of our school."
Ishit of Class 9 and Arshaleen of Class 11 skilfully conducted the programme. The Annual Day proved a resounding success, leaving attendees with cherished memories and pride in being part of the Model Academy family. Ms Nisha Arora, Convener of CCA, and Ms Neetu Bhardwaj, Co-convener of CCA, successfully coordinated the programme.
